Some might say that Sean DuBois was destined to be a lawyer. A successful competitive debater in high school, Sean attended college at the best debate school in the nation on a debate scholarship. On the fast track to a top law school, Sean began to see his friends burn out at big law firms helping rich corporations get richer, and decided to explore other options before committing to law school.

Sean decided to pursue his love of nature and the outdoors, spending the better part of a decade living as simply as he could all over the western United States and then in Hawaii and Florida, where he worked as a research diver at Florida Atlantic University's Department of Ocean Engineering. He saw up close how corporate greed and irresponsibility was ruining the naturally beautiful places he called home. It made him think more broadly about the need to protect people and the environment from the excesses of corporate power. He decided to return to his previous calling and use his skills to help individuals fight multi-billion dollar insurance companies and corporations.

Early in law school, Sean went to work for some of the best personal injury attorneys in Oregon. Following admittance to the Oregon Bar, Sean worked with a well-known senior personal injury attorney in Portland, and then formed his own practice, DuBois Law Office. While volunteering on a committee for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), he met Josh Shulman, a local personal injury attorney with a similar passion for representing deserving individuals fighting for justice. They joined forces and formed Shulman DuBois LLC.

Sean is a dedicated and active member of Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, where he is a Guardian of Justice member, regularly serving on committees and actively participating in fundraising and political efforts to support civil justice. He has been published in Trial Lawyer magazine and actively supports other pro-civil justice movements such as the American Association for Justice and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.

Sean and his family love living in the Pacific Northwest and often take advantage of the outdoor opportunities the area provides. Sean free dives and scuba dives on the Oregon Coast and he and his wife, Lena, and their two elementary school-aged children ski together every chance they get. They also travel to Sweden, where Lena was born and raised, to visit her family as often as possible.
