Oregonlive.com reports the death of a wheelchair-bound man in an accident that occurred Wednesday evening in Southeast Portland.

The accident happened around 9:30 PM, when driver Victor M. Arechiga Coronado, 23, of Portland struck and killed Richard Nordby, 67, of Portland as he was crossing Southeast Division and 168th Avenue. The police have determined that Nordby crossed the street against the walk signal, and that Coronado had the right of way.

We extend our sincerest condolences to all who knew and loved Richard Nordby. The shock of losing a loved one can be overwhelming, and we wish them solace in the weeks and months to come.

If the family is thinking about hiring a lawyer, or is being hassled by the insurance company, we would like to offer them a free copy of our book, which will help them navigate the difficult legal terrain they may face. In addition to our book, we welcome the Nordby family to contact us with general questions, if we are unable to help, we can find someone who can.

Important questions to consider when hiring a lawyer:
Does the lawyer understand how to help me pay my medical bills after an accident?
What about testimonials?
What kind of time limits are involved?
What if I have a smaller case?
Are there any hard rules to follow when looking for a great personal injury lawyer?
