Gresham police need help finding the driver who was involved in a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on October 29, 2009. Jerome Calcagno, 79, of Gresham, was crossing the street at NE 201st Avenue & Sandy Boulevard when a vehicle struck him, police say.
Calcagno was in serious condition at Legacy Emanuel Hospital as of October 30.

Our thoughts and prayers go out Calcagno and his family and friends. We wish him a full and fast recovery. Unfortunately, his and his family’s problems have only just begun. First, they have to focus on him getting better. Then there will be the medical bills and the insurance to worry about. Second, they still have to find the person responsible for this accident. And they have to decide whether to pursue legal action. However, the two go hand in hand; both depend on a witness stepping forward with information, or the driver turning himself in.
