Candace Lee Chitty, 63, of Eugene, Oregon, was seriously injured in a head-on crash after a car driven by Jacob A. Curtis, 19, of Eugene, crossed the center line and hit another car on Highway 126E near Vida, Oregon, according to an OSP press release.

The crash occurred around 4:10 PM on January 17, 2010. Curtis was westbound on the highway near milepost 23 when his car crossed into the eastbound lane and slammed into Chitty’s car.

According to an Oregon State Police press release, a two-car crash seriously injured three people on December 19, 2009, around 2:20 PM on Highway 22, west of Dallas, Oregon.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Bob Charpentier said that a black Chevrolet SUV driven by Jerry Dean Weber, 48, of Sheridan, was traveling west on Highway 22 near milepost 10, when, for unknown reasons, the car crossed the center line.

A 24-year-old Salem woman and teen were killed and 3 others were seriously injured in a head-on crash December 6, 2009, on Highway 223 near Dallas, Oregon, after a driver crossed the center line for unknown reasons.

Rebecca Dunaway, 24, of Salem, died in the crash, which occurred around 8:35 PM. Daymon Wachtler, 18, of Keizer, was critically injured and later died at the hospital.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies are trying to figure out why a car crossed the center line and hit a truck head-on. The crash occurred at 5995 Hazelgreen Road NE in Silverton, Oregon, October 17, 2009, at around 6:50 AM. The car’s driver, Reynaldo Velazquez-Celestino, 40, of Salem, was killed in the crash, and the driver of the truck, Mark Zank, 31, of Silverton, was injured.

A couple, Tom Watson, 64, and his wife, Sydnee, 62, both of Walla Walla, who were in the truck he collided with, was also injured in the accident.
